When an organization puts everything in one place for consumers and professionals alike, well we must share it!
Here is an Age in Place and Safe at Home Checklist from Rebuilding Together much like a template that I once used to complete occupational therapy home safety assessments. I encourage you to print out a copy and use it as you walk around your home or the home of a loved one.
When faced with a temporary or permanent health condition, making simple changes on the home can help prevent injuries, falls, and even help the person avoid some of the complications of that health condition. You know that old saying about an ounce of prevention?
Thank you to Rebuilding Together for making this available to everyone. Julie, O.T.
